Education Minister to face pupil behaviour query

The Education Minister will be asked about standards of behaviour in Manx schools when the House of Keys sits next week.

The NASUWT union published a report earlier this week claiming over 80% of teachers on the Isle of Man had been verbally abused or threatened with violence by a pupil.

Onchan MHK Julie Edge wants to hear Graham Cregeen's assessment of the behaviour of Manx students in schools.

The Department of Education and Children and a number of other teacher unions have questioned the validity of the study.
