Union survey reveals Manx teachers face abuse, threats of violence

Teachers on the Isle of Man face verbal abuse and threats of violence according to a survey by a teaching union.

The NASUWT believes more than 80% of the Island's teachers have faced such behaviour from pupils outside of school hours.

The findings also claim around an hour can be lost every day due to disruption in the classroom.

The union, which says the results of its survey reveal an alarming picture of pupil behaviour in the Isle of Man, is due to talk with local members today.
