Dog owners urged to control pets after rise in livestock attacks
Dog owners are being urged to keep their animals under control following an increase in deaths and injuries to livestock in the Manx countryside.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture are joining forces with the Manx National Farmers Union to appeal for dog owners to act responsibly, and for the public to report attacks.
The Government says attacks have been increasing despite a number of prosecutions and high profile appeals on social media.
There have been more than 40 cases of livestock worrying reported over the last two years, with some farmers losing entire flocks.
Dog owners who lose their animals on or near farmland should contact the dog warden as soon as possible, as well as the farmers who own the land to held locate the animal and avoid an incident.
