Council reminds residents to check workmen's ID

Douglas Borough Council is warning of unknown workmen posing as Council workers in a bid to access homes in the town.

The men claim to need access to the properties to view the kitchens at homes managed by the local authority.

The Council is reminding residents that anyone visiting a home on its behalf will have photo ID, which tenants are entitled to see before allowing a worker into their home.

The police have been notified of the reports, but anyone with further concerns can contact the Council's Housing Office on 696435.
