Investigation underway after DHSC recorder is taken

An investigation is underway after a recording device containing sensitive information was apparently stolen from the Department of Health and Social Care.

The recorder was being used by the Children and Families Division - affecting two users of the service.

The device contained recordings of meetings discussing children and families, which was done so with the permission of those involved.

The police, the Office of the Information Commissioner and the two people whose information was contained on the device have all been notified.

The item was taken from secured premises several days ago.
