Minister discusses food waste at BIC meeting
The Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture has been discussing ways to reduce food waste and improve recycling with his counterparts from around the British Isles.
Geoffrey Boot attended an environment meeting of the British-Irish Council in Guernsey to discuss a range of issues.
Representatives from the UK and Irish Governments were also there, along with members of the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish administrations and the Governments of Jersey and Guernsey.
Mr Boot spoke about raising public awareness of food waste locally, while hearing about ways recycling can present economic opportunities.
The British-Irish Council was established as part of the Good Friday peace agreement to build positive links between the different administrations in Britain and Ireland.
