Police announce digital upgrade

The Isle of Man Constabulary is updating its technology in a bid to give officers more time for policing.

The Police are spending £1.5m on a digital platform called 'CONNECT' with Northgate Public Services, which it's claimed will speed up paperwork and other admin tasks.

It's hoped the technology will result in officers spending more time on the streets.

12 other police forces in the British Isles already use the service, which claims to streamline forensics, management and surveillance.

The move could also pave the way for body cameras, drones and mobile speed guns to be brought in on the Island in the future.
