Police issue smishing warning
The Police are warning the Manx public of the dangers of smishing.
The scam involves fraudsters sending texts to bank customers urging them to call a number following a request for a withdrawal from their account.
The message often appears to follow on to an existing message thread, making it appear genuine.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has taken to social media to warn those who receive such a message against calling the number or clicking on any links in such a text.
