Patients going digital to manage medical affairs

That's according to the Department of Health and Social Care which says technological advances are giving patients greater control, convenience and flexibility.

More than 3,000 people have now signed up to 'Patient Access' which enables them to manage their medical affairs digitally.

The website - or App - allows people to book appointments with their GP, order repeat prescriptions and see part of their medical records 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Those using the App can also share other data collected through compatible mobile and wearable devices meaning doctors can view things like step count, heart rate, weight and workouts.
