Efforts underway to recruit more police officers

Efforts are underway to recruit more police officers in a bid to plug a gap being caused by long serving cops retiring. 
 
Drop in sessions are being held this month to give prospective applicants an insight into policing on the Isle of Man.  
 
The constabulary says recruiting the right people into the organisation is 'key' saying those that apply need patience, courage, flexibility and the ability to think and act quickly.
 
Pay and conditions for new police officers are tied in with those in England and Wales - Chief Constable Gary Roberts says that can put some people off:
