Retail bids at hospital were 'found wanting' says Minister

Retail space at Noble's Hospital will be taken over by government because bids from operators who are interested in the site were 'found wanting'. 
 
That's according to the Department of Health and Social Care which will start operating the sites - currently a newsagent and gift shop - from November.
 
The department says none of the applications met its minimum reserve rental price and whilst it would be preferable to have a private business running them it has to ensure value for money. 
 
Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle says extra staff will be needed and is welcoming applications from those already in post:
