Minister allays education funding fears

Taxpayers' money should be spent on helping children who want to go into higher education instead of into a Media Development Fund. 
 
That's the message from outgoing Onchan MHK Peter Karran who used his last Tynwald sitting to claim government has its priorities wrong when spending cash. 
 
He quizzed the Education and Children Minister on whether his department's budget had stopped anyone from going to university saying 'working class children' were missing out.
 
MLC Tim Crookall disputed this was the case saying no student grants have been refused due to a lack of money:
