Bell dismisses calls for independence as 'opportunistic politics'

Encouraging the Isle of Man to seek independence following the fallout from 'Brexit' wouldn't result in a "single positive".

That's the view of the Chief Minister who's responded to calls for the Island to explore the potential of breaking away from the UK.

Residents and politicians have been vocal about their feelings - Rushen MHK Phil Gawne says we have to start "thinking the unthinkable" and consider all the options.

However Allan Bell says despite holding a "passionate belief" that the Island should have greater independence now is not the right time:
