Guilty plea from woman wrongly claiming benefits

A Douglas woman will be sentenced next month after claiming benefits she wasn't entitled to.

37-year-old Lisa Barnett failed to tell the Treasury she'd started working when claiming Income Support.

Between January and September last year it's claimed she was overpaid by just under £6,500.

At Douglas Courthouse last week she pleaded guilty to seven counts of making false representations to obtain benefits.

Social enquiry reports have been requested before she's sentenced on March 17th.
