Cold callers strike as Bill restricting them enters HoK

Protecting the public from cold calling is more pivotal now than ever before.

That's according to the chairman of the Office of Fair Trading who's moving the Consumer Protection Bill in the House of Keys.

The change makes it an offence for a trader to secure a contract for the sale of goods using that method.

David Quirk says the OFT has been contacted by a number of people falling victim to scams this month - he has this message for Manx residents:
