Inspectors to review progress on vulnerable children

Inspectors from Scotland will visit the Island this year to review what progress has been made in giving young people a better start in life.

It's almost a year since the Strategy for Children and Young People was introduced - it came off the back of a damning report by the Scottish Care Inspectorate in 2013.

That found vulnerable children were not being given enough protection.

The five-year document aims to ensure children grow up healthy and are safe from harm and abuse - Gary McManus is from the Children's Services Partnership:
