Guitly plea from man found with kitchen knives

Social enquiry reports have been requested before a Douglas man who was found carrying knives in public will be sentenced.

Police stopped 40-year-old Philip Dancer on Central Promenade on October 29th - he had four kitchen knives in his walking frame.

Earlier that night he'd called the emergency services threatening to "kill someone" - he later told officers he was referring to killing himself because he was depressed.

At Douglas Courthouse earlier this week he pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited article in public - he'll be sentenced on December 17th.
