Commissioners go green with electric vehicle

Port Erin Commissioners has become the first local authority to "go green" on the Island's roads.

They've bought an electric van to replace an older diesel equivalent - it's expected to clock up around 6,000 miles each year.

The Manx Utilities Authority is installing two electric charging points in the village which the local community can also use. 

The van will cost £15 a month to run - clerk Jason Roberts say the figures add up:
