Emergency services stretched following multiple collisions

Emergency services were stretched to their limits yesterday following a number of separate road traffic collisions in a short space of time.

At 3.40pm there was a three vehicle collision on the Whitebridge Road in Onchan - everyone involved managed to get out of their cars and to safety.

Two of the drivers were taken to hospital for a check-up but no one was seriously injured.

There was also a further three vehicle collision near to the entrance of the NSC in Douglas and a collision involving a cyclist on the Old Castletown Road on Oak Hill.

A motorist also narrowly avoided injury after their car lost control and landed on its side blocking the road on the Round Table Shoulder Road.
