Manx Gas publishes prices after standing charge hike

Manx Gas has published a price breakdown after taking the decision to ramp up the standing charge.

Customers are being sent information about the new controversial charging structure which comes into play in January.

There are nine charging brackets - the lowest and heaviest users escape any charges - those in Band D will see their standing charge increase from £60 a year to almost £280.

Chairman of the Office of Fair Trading David Quirk says there isn't much it can do.
