Plans to increase Christmas footfall in place

Efforts are underway to increase footfall in Douglas town centre over the festive period.

With 86 days left until Christmas plans are in place to help attract more people to shop locally. 

This year a new 'Stocking Fillers Fair' will be held, showcasing a range of last-minute handmade items.

Street performers and buskers are also being encouraged to sign up for a pitch.

However development manager Chris Pycroft admits some traders are sceptical about the initiatives:
