Murderer loses appeal against conviction and sentence

A murderer has failed in his bid to have his sentence and conviction overturned.

46-year-old Ian Anderson was today told his murder conviction and life sentence, with a minimum term of 15 years, would remain in place.

The former Castletown resident had lodged an appeal claiming the trial against him earlier this year had been "unfair".

In April a jury found him guilty of murdering Ballabeg man Neil Roberts - the 60-year-old's body was found at Anderson's home on Queen Street on December 1st 2013.
