Sussex man accused of Euro theft

A man from East Sussex has appeared in court accused of stealing 50,000 of Euros.

Anthony Fresson, who's from Crowborough, entered "no plea" to one charge of theft at Douglas Courthouse.

The 59-year-old allegedly stole the money between June and September 2009 whilst he was the director of an Isle of Man company.

Committal proceedings will take place at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on October 16th - a bail application will be heard next Tuesday with Fresson remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until then.

The court was told the delay in bringing the case was down to the fact police officers in the Financial Crime Unit had been assigned to other operations which took priority.
