Teacher's inquest records verdict of accidental death

A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest of a teacher who died after being hit by a coach.

Santon man Rob Campbell was making his way home from Douglas, on foot, on December 20th when he was struck on Richmond Hill.

The 31-year-old suffered multiple injuries with his cause of death recorded as massive blunt force trauma.

Tributes were paid to him following his death with St Ninian's High School describing the PE teacher as a "hardworking and conscientious colleague".

At Douglas Courthouse yesterday Coroner of Inquests John Needham formally closed proceedings.
