Monday's TT Practice Session Under Threat

The Monday evening TT Practice Session is under threat due to stormy weather sweeping in tomorrow.

The Forecasters say that high winds reaching severe gale force and heavy rain will come in from mid afternoon bringing travel dispruption and possible debris from trees.

Winds are expected to touch 60mph in places and continue through the evening. Roads are due to close from 5pm but TT Clerk of the Course, Gary Thompson has already indicated the session may be scrubbed.

“At the moment there is every indication that the weather isn’t looking good.  We want to give people plenty of notice so we will review in the morning and make an announcement at around 2pm dependent on conditions at the time.  I will be in constant contact with the Meteorological Office at Ronaldsway – who incidentally were spot on with last night’s forecast when we had to curtail the session towards the end of the Lightweight TT session.” - Gary Thompson

An announcement as to whether the session will go ahead will be made on Monday 1st June at around 2pm.
