Committee system to be scrutinised

Tynwald's committee system will be scrutinised - by a new select committee.

Oral and written evidence is being compiled by its chair MHK Juan Watterson and Members Chris Thomas and Leonard Singer.

Mr Watterson says the review goes to the "heart of the constitution" - reviewing relationships between roles and departments in government.

It will also look at whether or not systems like the Public Accounts Committee are fit for purpose.
