Companies charged after death of construction worker

Two companies have been charged with a health and safety breach following the death of a 55-year-old construction worker in 2013.

Tuke and Bell Limited and JCK Ltd. both face one charge of failing to discharge duty on May 1 two years ago.

It follows the death of Gareth Sowden, who was killed whilst working at a sewerage treatment facility in Kirk Michael - he suffered crush injuries after being trapped under a shipping container.

The companies are expected to enter pleas during their appearance at Douglas Courthouse on April 28th.
