Murder Trial: Defendant admits being unfaithful to wife
A Castletown man who's accused of murdering the man he believed his wife was having an affair with has admitted to being unfaithful himself.
46-year-old Ian Anderson made the revelation in front of the jury after taking to the witness stand to give evidence.
He's standing trial for the murder of 60-year-old Neil Roberts in 2013 - his body was found at the Anderson's home on
Queen Street in the early hours of December 1st.
Anderson claims the Ballabeg gardener attacked him three times after he told him, and Alison Anderson, that if they loved each other they should leave and be together.
Earlier this week Anderson admitted to being unfaithful to his wife on four occasions - including having what he described as an "intimate encounter" with a neighbour in Castletown.
He said the pair had struck up a "really good friendship" and she was someone he could talk to when he "couldn't cope with the pressure" at home.
Today Anderson will be cross-examined by the prosecution.
He denies murder - the trial continues.
