MHK insists TV licence should be free for over 75s

Should the Island follow the lead of the UK Prime Minister and scrap plans to remove free television licences for over 75s?

That's the question being asked by North Douglas MHK John Houghton in today's House of Keys sitting.

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare announced the removal of the concession in February's budget.

David Cameron has vowed to reintroduce the initiative in the UK if the Conservative party is re-elected - Mr Houghton thinks it was a bad move to scrap it here:
