More Manx workers being employed

More Manx workers are being employed on the Isle of Man - with a drop in the number of work permits being approved.

Last year around 4,000 were signed off - that's down from 13,000 in 2003.

The Department of Economic Development says it will also take a robust approach to deal with anyone flouting employment laws.

Inspectors recently prosecuted an Indian restaurant in Ramsey for employing people without permits.
