Minister says economy is flourishing despite budget challenge

People shouldn't confuse government's budget difficulties with the performance of the economy as a whole.

Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says he understands why some are failing to see its positive performance.

2014 saw a year of continued growth for the Island of around three per cent - with unemployment falling by nearly a quarter.

He says the prospects for 2015 are as good, if not better, although he is conscious this hasn't yet been reflected in things like pay:
