Treasury clamping down on benefit cheats
Treasury is constantly looking to strengthen the benefits system in an effort to stop cheats from duping it.
That's the sharp warning following the conviction of a 28-year-old Douglas man who wrongly claimed over £34,000 he wasn't entitled to.
He was sent to prison earlier this week for eight months after neglecting to tell the authorities his circumstances had changed and he no longer needed Jobseeker's Allowance.
In September a 33-year-old Onchan woman was given community service after fraudulently claiming almost £6,000.
