School closures not taken lightly says department
Major work must be done before a weather event can close a school on the Island.
That's the message from the Department of Education and Children which says a number of processes must be followed - with the MET Office, police and Bus Vannin all influencing the decision.
Once individual opinions have been gathered it's then up to the Minister to make the final decision.
