Castletown's regeneration plan gets green light

A boost to Castletown's Market Square and Parade has been given the green light from planning.

Permission has been granted for the works - which will see an enhanced public space for pedestrians and events in a flexible area that can adapt to community needs.

Castletown Commissioners will provide additional short-stay parking to make up for any decrease in the square's provision.

As a result of the changes, the regeneration committee hopes the investment will increase footfall and 'economic viability'

If funding is approved by government, the works will begin early in the New Year.
