End of an era for Douglas horse trams

It will be the end of an era for the Douglas horse tram service this weekend.

For the last time ever horses will pass each other on the two tramlines on the promenades.

Major redevelopment work on the roadway will see a single track introduced with passing places.

The service is being suspended for a year - returning in 2016 for its 140th anniversary.
