Motorists told safety first around schools

Motorists are being asked to put safety first when driving near to the Island's schools.

The warning comes following a number of reports of irresponsible parking and drivers ignoring the lollipop patrols as they try to help the children cross the roads.

Parking illegally outside a school is a significant blockade for other traffic and could potentially cause an accident.

Road safety manager Gordon Edwards says measures are being taken to ensure those flouting the rules will be caught:
