Cavendish 'gutted' over shoulder injury

Mark Cavendish will miss the Commonwealth Games after injuring his shoulder in the Tour de France on Saturday.

The Manx Missile was involved in a crash during the sprint finish in the first stage in Harrogate - he now needs surgery after rupturing the ligaments.

The 29-year-old was due to take part in the road race event during the Glasgow event which starts on July 23rd however he is expected to be out of action for six weeks.

The Manxman says he is 'gutted' and 'majorly disappointed'.
