Patients to benefit from new IT system

Patients will be able to book doctor's appointments online in the future and have access to their own medical records.

The changes will come into place after all the GP practices here have a new IT system implemented.

EMIS Web is a cloud based system - it means patient data will be stored in the UK from October.

GP's say patients won't notice any difference at first - Doctor Alex Allinson says the benefits of changing system are positive:
