Belle to hit the big screen

A film described as a "two-hour advertisement for the Isle of Man" is hitting the big screen today.

Filmed on the Island, Belle is a romantic drama inspired by a 1779 painting of Dido Elizabeth Belle - a mixed-race woman who was raised as an aristocrat.

The film stars Gugu Mbatha (UM-BATHA), Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson and Emily Watson - who were here for a three-week shoot.

A number of locations were used including Castle Rushen and Peel Castle.
