TT newcomer airlifted to hospital after crash

Red flags and rain brought a premature end to last night's third TT qualifying practice session - with just one lap clocked up by the riders.

The session was abandoned after newcomer Laurent Hoffman was airlifted to hospital following an incident at the top of Barregarrow.

He suffered suspected leg injuries and is undergoing further assessment.

As the incident was being cleared the weather turned with rain reported in the north and cloudy and overcast conditions elsewhere leading to the racing being called off just after 7.30pm.
