Island wants IGCSE system

An overwhelming majority would like to see the Island opt for the IGCSE system.

82% of respondents to a consultation on what should replace the existing GCSE format would find a move to the IGCSE the best outcome.

Six in 10 responses came from parents, and 25% from teachers, over 800 people in total took part.

More than 89% said they think the Island should break from the English system, which will see coursework scrapped and all the emphasis placed on the final exams.

The IGCSE is currently offered in more than 140 countries, it's provided by Cambridge University.
