Government rules out fracking for now

Government has ruled out ‘fracking’ in the Isle of Man’s territorial seas – despite a concerted effort to explore more energy options.

The decision has been partly blamed on a lack of resources in government to conduct the necessary research.

The process of fracking – drilling to release natural gas – may have been ruled out for now but could be looked at again at a later date:
