Chief says reshuffle of ministers will bring 'fresh ideas'

Changing the Council of Minister’s line up is an attempt to inject new energy and fresh ideas into government.

That’s according to the Chief Minister, who yesterday unveiled a new look line up which saw three ministers relegated back to the backbench.

Health Minister David Anderson, Infrastructure Minister David Cretney and Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen have all been axed.

Middle MHK Howard Quayle and Rushen MHK Laurence Skelly have been given their first ministerial positions taking over Health and Social Care and Infrastructure respectively.

The DCCL will be abolished in April – for the next few weeks Chris Robertshaw will be overseeing the department before taking up responsibility for policy and reform.
