MHK wants to see increased GDP for locally produced food

The MHK for Castletown has tabled a motion in Tynwald on food production in the Isle of Man.

Richard Ronan wants to see a plan developed to increase GDP from locally grown, sourced and processed food to 7 per cent by 2025.

It's being directed at the Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture.

The increase would represent a four-fold increase in agriculture, food and drink manufacturing - which was highlighted in the 2011 National Income Accounts.
