FOI costs revealed by Chief Minister

Introducing a Freedom of Information act on the Isle of Man could cost half a million pounds

That’s according to the Chief Minister who says the Island only has one chance to get this legislation right.

Current estimates show it would cost £500,000 to implement the act and a further £500,000 each year to operate.

Allan Bell says he has committed to introducing the legislation but care must be taken to ensure the tax payer isn’t burdened with unnecessary expense.
