Bus and car involved in serious crash

Police have confirmed a bus has been involved in a serious crash near Fisher's Hill in Castletown.

The number 2 service was in a collision with another vehicle at around 3.30pm.

A number of people have been hurt with injuries ranging from severe to walking wounded.

Noble's Hospital resources are stretched while staff deal with the injured and the public are asked not to attend the hospital unless it's absolutely necessary.

People who are worried about relatives who may have been on the bus can call a police hotline on 697315.

Police have closed the road from the Castletown Bypass through to Shore Rd and its junction with Kentraugh indefinitely. This includes Quine's Road through to its junction with New Road.
