What legacy did the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games leave?
Today marks the second anniversary of the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games.
The event saw the Island play host to 64 competing nations, with over 1000 local volunteers needed to help with the running of the event.
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has said the legacy of the games, will be felt on Island for years to come.
It saw the redevelopment of the Bowl Stadium, now with a 3000 spectator capacity and all weather pitch.
Project Manager at the DCCL, Joyce Hall, said 2011’s Games’ are regarded as one of the best ever:
