Government publish action plan to stamp out tax crimes

Government have today published their action plan geared toward tackling tax evasion and fraud.

The plan outlines the Island’s position on tax exchange and the identification of corporate beneficial ownership.

The launch comes at a time other countries are spearheading similar initiatives, with the weighty issue of tax fraud taking centre stage at the G8 Summit in Lough Erne.

Issues like corruption, funding of terrorism and money laundering are also tackled within the action plan.

The document also carries a commitment to continue building on the Island’s growing number of tax cooperation agreements.
