Minister welcomes Budget praise for Island

The Treasury Minister says he was heartened by George Osborne’s comments during his Budget presentation this week.

A penny off the price of beer and the scrapping of a planned hike in fuel will cost the Manx economy just shy of one million pounds.

However Eddie Teare says it’s not all bad news after the UK Chancellor sang the praises of the crown dependencies.

Minister Teare said the Isle of Man has steered away from its murky financial past and this was finally being recognised by the British government:
