Plans for a new casino take strides forward

Discussions over the possibility of a new five star hotel and casino complex for the Island are said to be at an advanced stage.

 

Onchan MHK Zac Hall called for a progress update from the Economic Development Minister in Tynwald yesterday.

 

It follows the department’s decision last year to welcome expressions of interest from the private sector to create the new complex.

 

Seven interested parties originally came forward and now John Shimmin says discussions are continuing with the one remaining interested party.

 

He says he is grateful for their efforts to date and says he hopes to conclude discussions in the near future.
